Policies

Online Items Subject to Prior Sale
We strive to keep our online inventory accurate, but items purchased online (especially those that are low in stock) are subject to prior sale. If this occurs with your order, we will give you the option of choosing an substitute items or receiving a full refund on that item. 

Shipping
We ship to the US, US military bases, and Canada only. While we typically ship USPS, we reserve the right to use any carrier. Shipping rates are $5.00 for orders under $50. Orders $50 and above ship free*. Typically, items will be shipped within two business days of purchase and should arrive within one to five business days thereafter, depending on your location. Orders comprised of books only will be shipped via Media Mail and may take longer. Shipping confirmation and tracking information will be emailed to you.

Unfortunately, we cannot be responsible for packages stolen after delivery. If you require special shipping considerations, please contact manager@scissortailgifts.com prior to placing your order.

*Shipping rates are higher and free shipping is unavailable in Alaska, Hawaii ($15) and Canada ($20). A few of our items that are especially large or heavy will have a higher shipping rate. This will be noted in the item description.

Local Delivery
We offer same-day local delivery for a fee of $10. This option is only available to delivery addresses within a 10 mile radius of our warehouse and will only appear as an option if your delivery address qualifies. Order must be received by noon for same-day delivery. Deliveries occur Monday - Friday only.

In-Store Pickup
You may choose to pick up your order rather than have it shipped. Just indicate your preference when you check out. We will notify you when your order is ready to pick up and provide further information. Please allow up to 24 hours (Monday - Friday) for us to prepare you order, however it typically will be available to pick up sooner than that. If you have not received your pickup notification within 24 hours of placing the order, email manager@scissortailgifts.com for assistance. Please pick up your order within two business days of receiving the notification.

We do not refund orders that are not picked up. We will keep pulled orders for two weeks after you are notified that the order is ready. After two weeks, items will be returned to stock. You may still pick up your items, however please provide us advance notice so they can be pulled again. Any items no longer in stock will be replaced with a similar item, or refunded if a similar item is not available.

Returns and Exchanges
Effective on 12/8/2021, all sales are final. The only exception is that we will provide a replacement for any item received broken or damaged.


For orders prior to 12/8/2021, we accept returns and exchanges with certain restrictions.

Returns
Items may be returned for a refund, with consideration to the conditions laid out below. A 10% restocking fee will be deducted from your refund. This fee covers our non-recoverable costs such as credit card fees, as well as our time to process and restock the return. Shipping fees are not refunded.

Exchanges
Items may be returned for exchange, with consideration to the conditions laid out below.

Deadlines for Refunds and Exchanges
Requests for refunds and exchanges must be made within 14 days of delivery of your order and should be returned to us within one week of us approving your return request.

Condition of Item Returned or Exchanged
Items returned must be in their original box (when applicable) and must be in new, sellable condition. Returned items must be received before replacement items will be shipped.

Shipping Fees
You must ship returned items to us at your own cost, or you can return them locally. If we are shipping an exchanged item, you must pay shipping fees. Should the return or exchange be due to our error, we will waive shipping fees.

We reserve the right to reject any refund/exchange if it is returned without authorization, if it is not requested/returned within the terms stated above, and/or if it is not returned in sellable condition.

Gift Certificates
Gifts codes for our store make a great gift for a friend, relative or co-worker. You may purchase a gift code in any denomination. To purchase a gift code, email manager@scissortailgifts.com and specify the desired amount.  We will send you a link to pay online and then provide the gift code. Recipients of the gift code will be responsible for any applicable shipping costs of their order, unless they choose to pick up their order in person.

We no longer accept or issue Square gift cards. However, previously issued Square gift cards with balances can be converted into a discount code to be used online. To request this transfer, email manager@scissortailgifts.com with the full gift card number from the back of the card.
